News is out that Bill Blair has resigned. As far as we’re concerned, he shouldn’t be getting a cushy job, but the PM has named him as the new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
This man was a horrible man during the so-called COVID “crisis” and then told some whoppers about the Canadian Truckers’ Freedom Convoy. Not really sure what PM Carney sees in Blair that he thinks he would make a good High Commissioner. One wonders if this is some way to protect Blair from something or other that might be coming down the news pipeline. Get him out of the country fast.
We’ve come across former MTPD/TPS police officers who didn’t think much of Blair. One of them apparently even trained Blair in use of firearms when Blair was just a young constable and had not a good word to say about him. He began his career and spent considerable time on foot patrol duties in Regent Park, Toronto.
If anyone who visits Polspy ever lived in the housing project of Regent Park and can recall Blair, feel free to leave a comment about your experience(s) with him. That was a long time ago, though.
I recall visiting a friend in Regent Park back in the early 1990’s and the place could be a bit scary to walk through at night time. It had the classic signs of being a slum and the area very rundown. I did run into pleasant MTHA officers though, who patrolled the housing project along with the 51 Division foot patrol unit. I would imagine they had a tough job.
But we’ve gone off topic of the subject of Bill Blair and will end by saying, “Good Riddance to you, Bill!”
